LVL CLIENT STORIES: Asking Your Coach for Support Isn’t Failure, It’s Success

Today I want to share a message from one of our GSD participants that perfectly captures why we do what we do here at LVL Holistics. Because sometimes, the most powerful transformations aren't the ones you can see in a photo.
When "Different" Feels Like Coming Home
When was the last time you walked into a wellness space and weren't immediately asked about your "problem areas" or how much weight you wanted to lose?
Our client (let's call her Jane) noticed that our coaches "articulate the intention to not have deficit mindsets around bodies" – and honestly, this is everything.
"I love that GSD is anti diet culture. It felt different that my goals were not assumed to be around weight loss or working out."
Because your body isn't a problem to be solved.
It's not broken. It doesn't need fixing. It needs support, nourishment, and maybe a little more kindness than you've been giving it.
The Magic of Not Having to Hide
This feedback from Jane was so encouraging:
"I realized GSD was really working for me when I felt like I didn't have to hide my failures from my coaches. I wasn't embarrassed to ask them for help, and I didn't feel like a failure because I needed accountability and support to reach my goals."
Y'all. This is it. This is the whole point.
How many times have you skipped a check-in because you had a rough week?
How many times have you avoided your trainer's texts because you missed a few workouts?
How many times have you felt like you had to perform being "perfect" instead of being honest about what you actually needed?
In GSD, we throw that nonsense right out the window. Your coaches aren't there to judge your slip-ups – they're there to help you navigate them. They're there to remind you that needing support isn't a character flaw; it's human.
The Power of Being Seen and Heard
Jane particularly loved the weekly voice feedback from Lindsay, describing it as having "the space to reflect weekly and hear her ideas or just get validation and her thoughts on my reflections."
There's something magical about being truly heard, isn't there? Not just the surface-level "good job" but someone actually listening to your thoughts, your struggles, your wins, and reflecting them back to you with wisdom and compassion.
What Success Actually Looks Like
Now, let's talk about Jane's wins – because they're pretty incredible:
She successfully moved her body at least three times each week.
She re-entered the yoga studio and recommitted "in a joyful way" (I'm obsessed with this phrase).
She focused on protein and successfully increased her intake.
But here's my favorite part of her journey:
"There was a week that I felt really aligned, when I was meeting my goals, but I also was listening to what my body needed. I remember that I canceled yoga because it wasn't feeling joyous and I needed to rest. I felt aligned because even though I took a break, I wasn't mean to myself and I still was feeling positive and I didn't give up after taking a rest."
Did you catch that? She canceled yoga because it didn't feel joyous, and instead of beating herself up, she felt ALIGNED. She listened to her body, honored what it needed, and didn't spiral into self-criticism.
That, my friends, is what we call a mindset shift. That's what happens when you stop trying to force your body into submission and start working with it instead.
This Could Be You
Jane's final words say it all:
"GSD is great for anyone looking for peace in their wellness journey and [for] anyone who is tired of the same BS in diet programs. If they've ever felt like they failed over and over, this is for you. I found the program to be empowering, and everyone deserves to feel this good about themselves."
Peace in your wellness journey. Not perfection. Not punishment. Peace.
If you're tired of hiding your "failures," if you're exhausted by the same old diet culture BS, if you're ready to stop feeling like you're broken and start feeling empowered – maybe it's time to try something different.
Maybe it's time to try GSD.
You deserve to feel this good about yourself, too.
You deserve coaches who see your humanity, not just your habits.
You deserve a space where you can be honest about your struggles, without feeling like a failure.
You deserve peace in your wellness journey.
