Is Falling Off the Wagon Really a Failure?
We’ve all been there. The missed workouts. The nights of takeout instead of the meal we planned. The moment we think, "I’ve completely fallen off track."
It’s easy to let these moments mean something heavy, that we’re failing, that we don’t have discipline, that maybe we just aren’t meant to succeed at this. But here’s the truth: this is part of the process.
Every single person who has ever reached a goal has had moments like this. The difference? They didn’t let it define them. They made a choice about what it meant.
And so do you.
You Have Two Choices
When you feel like you've "fallen off the wagon," you have two options:
You can decide this is the end.
You can step away from it for now.
You can decide that this isn't the right time.
That’s always an option.
- OR -
You can decide this is just a moment.
You can recognize that this is a bump in the road, not the end of the journey.
You can take a deep breath, recalibrate, and figure out your next step forward.
The truth is, your success isn’t built on perfection. It’s built on how you respond to these moments.
Radical Responsibility: Own Your Choice
Now, let’s be real. You don’t have to push through frustration or discomfort right now.
If you don’t want to prioritize your health right now, then say that. Sit with it. See how it feels. Sometimes, that radical responsibility moment won’t feel good and maybe that’s a sign that you can still do the easiest next thing. That radical acceptance can be really powerful here. Accept now is not that time. That doesn't mean you can never work on it. But now isn't the time. There's power in owning your choice fully.
Because the reality is, your health is always your choice. It’s not something that happens to you it’s something you build, step by step, decision by decision. And radical responsibility means acknowledging that if you don’t take action, that’s still a decision.
And If You Want Support…
If you feel so overwhelmed that you don’t know which direction to go that you can’t see yourself getting out of it this is where coaching comes in.
This is exactly why I do what I do. To help women just like you navigate these moments, find clarity, and build the kind of resilience that keeps you moving forward without the all-or-nothing pressure.
If you’re feeling stuck and want support in getting unstuck, let’s talk. Because no matter what you choose you have the power.
